improvements in their overall health. Some want to lose weight, some
want to have more energy, some want to lower their cholesterol or blood
pressure, and some just want to save money by eating at home more often!

Whatever the motivating factor, preparing your own meals does seem to
have a positive effect on your health. Being able to control the
ingredients is a major factor! You can easily prepare some of your most
favorite dishes in a healthier way by substituting fat-free or lower-fat
products for the originals. Lower sodium ingredients are also easily
available.

Focusing on improving your health or your weight doesn't have to mean
deprivation. Thousands of healthy, delicious recipes exist that will
leave you and your family feeling not only satisfied, but excited about
mealtime.

Healthier eating includes an emphasis on lean protein, vegetables,
whole-grains, fruits, low-fat dairy, and heart-healthy oils. Eating
plenty of lean protein and high fiber foods is essential to help you
feel full and satisfied.

There are many delicious recipes to help you prepare lean protein in a
healthy way. Greek salmon, for example, is impressive enough for
company, but only takes 20 minutes and 5 ingredients to prepare. This
simple recipe is just as delicious using chicken or pork.

Frozen vegetables are easy to find and prepare but it may be fun to
experiment a bit with fresh vegetables. You can usually find cooking
suggestions
right in the produce aisle or on various websites. Preparing
soup is a great way to include vegetables in your diet, and many

Many people believe that they have to eliminate desserts if healthy
eating is their goal. While it's true that sugar provides no nutritional
benefit, in small amounts, it can still be enjoyed. Cakes prepared with
diet soda or canned fruit instead of eggs and oil have significantly
less calories and fat, but amazingly just as much flavor!

Some people are intimidated by food preparation and are hesitant to
commit to eating at home for that reason. Cooking can be a highly
skilled task, but it doesn't need to be. Wonderful recipes are readily
available that require little or no cooking skills. So, surprise your
family and yourself by making more home-cooked, nutritious meals this

The Secret to Weight Loss: The No-Diet Plan to Lose Weight and Keep it Off

You want to know the secret to weight loss? Why diets work for some, but not for others? The truth is we don’t have just one mouth to feed; we have four. Aside from our physical bodies, we have a mental, emotional and spiritual body, all of whom equally require nourishment. If any of our bodies are not fed, we will feel unsatisfied and head for the refrigerator.

Satisfying each body depends on our ability to accurately answer the question, what am I hungry for? By knowing what each of our bodies is hungry for, we can give each what it needs. The desire to consume will then no longer consume us. For example, the emotional body is satisfied by attention and awareness. Its purpose is to provide information and direction in making decisions. To lose weight, you can nourish the emotional body by reading the messages of your emotions and respecting their guidance. If ignored, these messages will get louder, and you will use food to stuff them down. But eating never satisfies the cravings of the emotional body. When we disregard the emotional body’s communications, we become overweight, hate ourselves, and feel frustrated.

Conversely, if we allow our emotions to deliver their messages and make choices based on their guidance, we will no longer crave the chips or cookies. Instead, our lives will reflect our highest selves, and we will experience new levels of joy and satisfaction.

The mental body is nourished by meaning. It analyzes problems, and devises action plans to help us achieve our goals. We form beliefs, rules, judgments and decisions to assist us in deciding what the events in our lives mean. As we have new experiences, it may be necessary to rethink our beliefs, rules, judgments and attitudes. By changing our minds, we automatically change our lives. Allow yourself to flow with the process of life. Meaning is born out of this flow. When life is meaningful, it becomes fulfilling.

The spiritual body is nourished by inspiration. To inspire means to affect, guide, or arouse by divine influence. Divine influence is experienced through vision, purpose, passion, and intuition, all of which are forms of higher guidance. Inspiration points to the next step on the path. It provides the motivation to move forward, try again, risk, or make that leap of faith. To lose weight, be open to inspiration. Listen to the silence, meditate, pray or commune with nature, and maintain a sincere desire to receive.

The Benefits of Natural Weight Loss

With so many people today determined to lose weight without compromising their health, it's no wonder there are an abundance of natural weight loss diets and programmers out there. A simple Google search will turn up millions of results, as the world moves towards a slimmer, healthier place. And it's always been the same. Luckily, you can effectively lose weight without the diet pills and synthetic appetite suppressants, and natural weight loss is far more effective for most dieters anyway.

The best idea for natural weight loss is to increase the rate of the metabolism. If you’re out to lose weight quickly, with long lasting guaranteed results, then you should strive to increase your metabolic rate. The problem with many of the fashionable diets is that they restrict the amount of food the dieter can eat, which will actually slow the metabolism and eventually result in the gradual re-gaining of any weight lost. If you increase the rate of your metabolism, you will lose fat permanently, and become far leaner as a consequence.

Exercising constantly on a restrictive diet actually uses the protein from the diet rather than fat. It also means that the majority of weight lost will be water loss, which can confuse many dieters. Before reducing calories, the key is to increase the metabolism, which will constantly increase the rate at which the food you eat is converted into energy, meaning less storage as fat and in increase in energy for your leaner body. Increasing the metabolism also allows for the proteins to be put to use in building and maintaining muscle, which is again the goal for many dieters. With this simple form of natural weight loss, you will find yourself less restricted, whilst still losing pounds and inches from your weight loss. This is by far the best method to shift those stubborn fatty deposits and work on your way to a slimmer self.

So how do you go about increasing your metabolic rate? The best way to start is by eating smaller portions more often. Rather than eating three large meals a day, it is far better for weight loss to eat five smaller meals. Even without exercise, you'll soon find that this actually helps you lose weight, simply through eating more often. Of course, it’s no good if you shift from three large meals a day to five large meals a day, and by the same token there’s no point in loading up with extra helpings of pizza or chips. If you stick to a healthy balanced diet and eat regularly, you’ll find you’re more active, have more energy and lose weight.

After sticking to this natural weight loss method, you can then start to decrease your calorie content and step up to some light exercise to help shed those pounds even quicker. That way you'll be making sure your body gets all the good stuff it needs to stay healthy, whilst still managing to fit those tight jeans. If you think about it, and stick rigidly to your five meals a day, you can lose weight the natural way and end up looking great and feeling fabulous.
